the petty's on wheel of fortune? it's true! wheel of fortune had dubbed april 22-26 "nascar week". all petty drivers will be making appearances; john buckshot, kyle and richard petty will be making appearances. check your local listings, but the shows will air nationwide april 22-26. 4/10/02

texas race results- (4/10/02)

43 john andretti: john's day started off well moving up a couple positions, but a little while after the race started he started to move back in the fireld and got lapped. he then got stuck another lap down after a long green flag run. but john was able to move into the 22nd position, 2 lapps down, he then moved up 2 positions in points to 32nd in the standings.

44 buckshot jones: buckshot started out the day in 42nd place but was quivckly able to move up through the fireld. for a hwile it looked as if he would be the top finishing petty of the day but after dale jarret raced him back to the line for a caution, he was not able to get a lap back. however on the restart, DJ let buckashot go by and get his lap back temorarily until rusty put him back down again. buckshot ended up finishing in 26th and 3 laps down to the leader. 

45 kyle petty: kyle began the race like john, good int eh beginning but he ended up going a lap down early. he then ended up taking a green flag pit stop, but was hurt by being left two laps down when robby gordon spun and brought out a caution. kyle ended the race right in front of john in 21st position, 2 laps down. kyle didn't move at all in the point, he stayed in 25th.

bristol race reports:

43-john andretti: john started out sunday's food city 500 with an incredible run. even though he started in 21st by lap 48 he had moved all the way up to 13th and it appeared as if he was going to have a good race. however his day was cut short when kevin harvick, who was trying to better his own position, spun him on lap 50. he ended up finishing the race in 34th 38 laps down to the leader. he received 61 points and dropped one spot in driver's point to 34th.

44-buckshot: buckshot's day was terrible at bristol. he started towards the back of the field in 36th position next to kyle. but his day was also cut short, he was spun by steve park on lap 4. he ended up being 130 laps down to the leader, finishing in 40th. he received 43 points moving him up one position to  35th in the point standings.

45-kyle petty: kyle's day at bristol was by far the best of the 3 petty cars. in the beginning of the race it appeared as if kyle would be lapped early after starting in 35th position. however he was lucky, every time it appeared he would go down a lap a caution was called and he was able to catch up with the leaders. towards the end of the race a caution was called and all cars pit except the top 7, kyle was one of those. he was able to stay in the top 10 for a while until another caution was called he then pit and came out in the 20's. he was able to work his way all the way back to 12th position, which is where he finished. he received 127 points and moved up 4 positions to 25th in the point standings. 3/25/02
